Supporting Decision Making and Informed Consent
Transcript
When patients are making decisions about treatment I want them to have clear information about their options, the risks involved and how outcomes might vary. I use my 4Cori videos in a number of ways to support this: including sharing them on my social channels, or directly via a shared link, and in person during a consultation. Patients can revisit the content again in their own time - taking the pressure off having to remember everything during a single consultation, when emotions can be high. And rather than piecing together information about risks and options, from Google; social media; or ChatGPT - they're getting it directly from me. Importantly, if I need to update a video or create a new one - I just message the 4Cori team and it's done within a few days - no need for any refilming. That means my content stays current, without taking up my clinical time. Patients can also share these videos directly with family and friends. A shareable link brings those people into the conversation - as well as being in a language that works for them. Overall - my video suite provides a modern way of supporting patients and the people around them to have the information they need to make important decisions about their care.
